THE FOSCOE PHILHARMONIC

Foscoe Phil is a string trio consisting of violin(Greg Logan) viola (Ray Green) and cello / bass (Mark Stiles).  Greg and Ray have been performing together since college (over 30 yrs.) and Mark joined the group in 2005.  Foscoe Phil performs for weddings and other social events in the Raleigh, NC area.  Their  music encompasses a wide variety of styles and genres.   We like to say, "Everything from Mozart to Motown".


More about the trio .....

 

  Mark teaches MS and HS Orchestra in the Wake County Public School System.  His major instrument is the cello but he also plays guitar,and Ukulele.  Mark, a native to Rochester, New York moved to Raleigh, North Carolina in 1998 with his wife Tamrah.  Along with performing with the Foscoe Phil, he also performs with the Raleigh Symphony Orchestra.

 

   Greg taught HS Orchestra in the Wake County Public School System.  He is a native of Raleigh, NC and is one of the original founders of the Foscoe Philharmonic. Along with performing with the Foscoe Phil,  he teaches private violin and viola lessons. He is married to his wife Dannette and has 3 sons, Adam, David and Michael.  Greg is a graduate of NC Central University, Durham, NC, where he completed a B.A. in Music Education.  He also attended school at Appalachian State University.


    Ray currently works as a Real Estate Appraiser  and is a free lance musician on the side.  He received his musical training at Appalachian State University, where he trained for a degree in performance.  He has played in numerous professioanal orchestras,  taught privately and is an original member of the Foscoe Philharmonic String Duo.
